| 487th | The second [mission] was a late morning mission taking off at 1110 hours to attack the Ora Railroad bridge in Northern Italy. All told there were nine ships, six bombers and three phosphorus - both elements succeeded in hitting the target. Phosphorus pattern walked across gun positions and bomb pattern appeared centered on the bridge. Four ships were holed as a result of the intense and accurate anti-aircraft fire encountered. |
